protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential
human services, especially for those who are least able to
help themselves.
Federal Trade Commission
The FTC seeks to ensure that the nation's markets function
competitively, and are vigorous, efficient, and free of undue
restrictions. The Commission also works to enhance the smooth
operation of the marketplace by eliminating acts or practices
that are unfair or deceptive.
National
Highway Traffic Safety Administration
The mission of the Impaired Driving Division is to develop
partnerships to cooperatively save lives, prevent injuries,
and reduce traffic-related health care and economic costs
resulting from impaired driving (alcohol and other drugs).
National Household Survey on Drug Abuse
This federal study is the primary source of information on
the prevalence, patterns, and consequences of drug and alcohol
use and abuse in the general U.S. civilian non institutionalized
population, age 12 and older.

Institute on Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse
The NIAAA supports and conducts biomedical and behavioral
research on the causes, consequences, treatment, and prevention
of alcoholism and alcohol-related problems. It also provides
leadership in the national effort to reduce the severe and
often fatal consequences of these problems.
U.S.
Coast Guard Boating Safety
To help reduce the incidents of boating under the influence,
the United States Coast Guard has initiated a major, nationwide
campaign to warn Americans about the dangers of alcohol consumption
and boating.
